This is the earliest picture we have of our precious baby. Riley was approximately 24 hours old on 7-16-2008. This picture ran in a local newspaper with an advertisement looking for Riley's birth parents. She was found abandoned in a medical department in the 5th People's Hospital, Datong City. As no one claimed her, she was admitted into the Social Welfare Institute of Datong City. This is a sad beginning for this sweet baby. Unfortunately, this is the only way a birth mom in China can make a birth plan and ensure a better life for her child. We cannot wait to be Riley's mama, daddy, and big sister. We know that God has been involved in every step of her short life, protecting her and loving her since she was conceived in her birth mother's womb. This is His divine plan for her to be in our family! Thank you God for this wonderful gift awaiting us in China! Help us to meet all the needs this precious little girl will have in the days to come.
