We received an unexpected surprise today from China-- the Social Welfare Institute of Datong City to be exact! Riley's orphanage sent us a brief update on her, along with some new pictures! We were so excited because we were not expecting to get any more new information until we arrived in China. Riley is 21 months old today and weighs 20 pounds. She is still 29 inches tall. She has changed since her pictures from February, particularly her hair looks longer. I cannot wait to put hairbows in her beautiful hair! The update also stated that she can climb stairs by holding onto your hand. She appears to be a very busy little girl as she plays with all the toys at her orphanage. David thinks she may have been crying in the picture with the purple car. I told him it is because she wants her mommy (and daddy and big sister)to come bring her home!
This is wonderful!!!! She is absolutely beautiful! I love following your journey to get Riley through your blog! Can't wait to see pics of her with her family here in the U.S.!

You, David, and Lizzy are in our prayers and special prayers are being said for Riley for her happiness, health, and safety until you can reach her. When I think of adoption, I think of how God says that we are adopted into His family. What a beautiful thing!
