So How Did We Get Here?

This has been a very lengthy adoption process these last 4 years, but it actually started back in October 2003 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, while we were on a church trip with some friends from Smyrna Assembly. David and I were amazed and dumbfounded when we were prophesied over with a message saying that God was going to add more children to our family! We might not have believed what was being spoken over us about our future if we had not already had our past and present revealed so clearly moments before. It was as if someone had been reading our mail! I also do not think we would have believed this was genuine if it had not happened to us together as a couple. This was a life-altering trip where seeds were sown in our hearts about the promise God had made to us!

We came home and had many conversations regarding this Word that we had received from God. We confided in each other that this truly was our heart's desire to have another child, but we had been unwilling to tell the other one for fear of rejection. Also, our precious daughter, Elizabeth, had been desiring and praying for a sibling since the age of 3, when her cousin, Skyler, was born. She had so much fun playing with him, and wanted a brother or sister of her own. It seemed like such a daunting task for all these ideas to line up at the same time that we agreed this was definitely the hand of God moving in the life of our family!
