Hello dear friends and family,
I am writing this note to tell you all wonderful and unexpected news! We have a baby! Yes, we finally received our referral from China, January 28, 2010, after nearly 4 years since we began this adoption! Although I am not allowed to send pictures at this time due to Hague regulations and requirements of China, trust me, she is beautiful! She was born on July 15, 2008, and is currently 18 months old. She is considered a special needs baby because she has a cleft lip, which is easily repaired once she arrives home. Many of you know how we have struggled with this long wait and even wondered if we heard correctly from God. My faith has wavered many times during this very difficult process. I give God all the praise and glory for His perfect timing and this perfect, beautiful little girl which we get to parent! Elizabeth is beside herself and cried for a solid 5 minutes sobbing her heart out with shock, excitement, and deep gratitude.
More details will follow as we learn them. Please remember us in your prayers and our precious Riley Grace as we prepare to bring her home very soon! Our social worker says things will move quickly now. We anticipate travel to China within 3-4 months, possibly sooner. I will try to get a blog up soon so you can follow our process if you would like. I'll send that site to you when it's up and running. Lots to do in the weeks ahead!
