Waiting No Longer!

Waiting No Longer!

And the long wait begins.....

If 2006 was a year of initiating the adoption process, then 2007, 2008, and 2009 would be the years of waiting! I cannot tell you how frustrated we were during these difficult years of basically nothing happening. China came to a crawl in their adoptions, and David and I were starting to doubt if we had heard correctly from God. Our hearts and finances were already deep in the heart of China, so there was not much we could do but pray and wait. Meanwhile, Elizabeth finished middle school and moved on to high school. Life went on as we waited, sometimes impatiently, othertimes more peaceful.

These years were also known as the years of renewing paperwork in order to keep everything updated, just in case we got that call that things were moving forward. You always have to be paper ready and up to date because that could slow things way down if you are not current when things start moving again. Our homestudy has been updated two times at this point, our immigration paperwork two times, and our fingerprints three times. Adoption from China is not for the faint of heart!
